Card Repeater - setting start date

I have just finished my quarterly BAS and wanted to set up a card repeater for future QTRS, however it does not seem to allow me to set a new start date where I need it (30 september). What am I missing?  - this seems like a basic function for this very useful powerup.

Hi @CPC 

Card repeater merely copies the repeat card (source card) at set intervals, so it is pretty pointless having dates set on the she source card generally. 

I would replace this with an automation to be honest...

Something like:

when the card is marked as complete in a card in list "Repeat Tasks" with the yellow "QTR" label, mark the card as incomplete, move the start date by 3 months, move the due date by 3 months, and uncheck all the items in checklist "CHECK these things" on the card

I would have been happy with the copy card at a set interval, but it was not repeating it from the card source when I needed it to - I guess you can only do this if you create the card on the exact day you want it to repeat from. This is unlikely for me. or perhaps I am not trello knowledgeable enough.
