Card Sync

Hi...looking to achieve two-way card syncing across boards and teams.  Here's what I've run into so far:

  • Tried Unito...doesn't sync checklists within cards
  • Looked at Placker...pricing is beyond me as a single user

So, I'm down to looking at CardSync for Teams.  Pricing doesn't look terrible at all, however, it only works with team boards (won't work with personal boards) and doesn't look like it will sync across multiple teams in one account.

My setup is as follows:  I have personal boards for personal items and then I set up a team for my farm and another for work.  This seems to help with visually stretching out the overall organization.

I want to achieve the following:  Plan/manage in each board and team.  Then have a "Main Planner" board to which I can copy cards into from the various boards/teams and create a master schedule from the various entities thus creating a comprehensive workflow view of personal, work, and farm projects.  I want the cards to dynamically sync both ways.

Any ideas???  I'm open to anything...even restructuring if necessary.  My main issue is that I want to see a comprehensive workflow/schedule in one board from the main personal, work, and farm aspects and I've yet to be able to achieve that in a meaningful way.  Yes, I've copied cards to a main planning board, but changes in those cards do not sync thus creating a "loss" of info issue.

FYI, I'm new to Trello so any guidance is much appreciated.  Thanks for all of your help!

Hi @J.C. Schaumleffel

I wanted to let you know we've updated Unito to include checklist syncs within the cards. So it should work fine now! We have a resource on the procedure for setting up a master board in Trello that you may find helpful.

How to Create a Master Board in Trello (Webinar/Tutorial):

I hope you find this useful. Let me know if you have any questions, or need any further help.

Best,

Unito

Hey JC

Aside from those that you mentioned, you can have a look at Card Sync Green.  This is free for up to 10  sync sources.  It works by adding @cardsyncgreen to each of your boards, and have a card with the same name on each board. Then you add the cardsyncgreen member to the card, and it will match those two.

Thanks for the suggestion Matthew.  After testing it, I find that it works on an "interstate" basis between boards AND teams...exactly what I was after.  My only issue might be the 10 sync sources (20 total cards) limitation for free service.  I'd be OK with being a paying customer to access more syncing however the current entry rate of $19/month is going to put a halt to that.  I'll just be diligent on what gets synced.

The Card Sync for Teams has a much more attractive pricing structure.  Might see about taking all my personal boards to a team status and use Card Sync for Teams due to the fact the Teams version of Card Sync will not work with the personal boards.

Much appreciated!
