Hi There,
I have set up a key project for our business in Trello. As a part of this project we have both weekly and monthly tasks that need to be done on a monthly basis.
I have seen that there is no simple recurring tasks option on the normal Trello - so we have used the card repeater option. However this is creating tasks eah time with the same due date?
I am so confused why there is no simple way or function in Trello to create recurring tasks? this is such a basic function of a Project Management system that it seems odd it would not be a normal feature.
Can someone please support me with the most simplified way to be able to set up repeat tasks.
Thank you.
Hi @Hayley Donohue - welcome to the Community!
You can easily do this by creating scheduled automations: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/create-and-manage-automations/#Scheduled-automations
Hi Alex,
So for a simple recurring task we want to do each week, what is the suggested approach.
The task does not change, we just want it to appear for our VA to know it needs to be actioned weekly on a Monday, with the relevant due dates assigned.
The card repeater shows the original due date, not the correct due date.
Can you please advise the simplest approach with automations.

Hi Trello Support, Following this up. Would love to get a clear answer from you with speed, as we are waiting on clarification.
Are you telling us there is no simple, free way to create a recurring task, with a new due date - without using a paid powerup?
This is such a basic function in a task managment platform it seems odd that we can't do it.
Please advise asap.

Hi @Hayley Donohue
If you consider using Trello power-ups, you can try Planyway calendar for Trello that supports recurring cards.
Here's the detailed guide on how to make it work.
Cheers!

Hi Mary,
I have seen the Planway add on, however I beleive we can not do this on a paid account? Is this correct?
We would want to avoid a paid option if possible as this is such a basic function in a Project Management platform.

Yes, unfortunately, it's the feature of the paid plan:(
