I was an quite early adopter with Trello but since a year or two I have moved to Favro due to one feature in Favro that Trello doesn't have. Favro has now abandoned the free version and I want to go back to Trello (to the cheapest payed plan). Is there a script or other service that can automate the transition process? Need to get the Favro information in JSON and post that information into Trello.
To Trello admins: There are a number of Favro users that are not happy with the new cost structure in Favro. If you spend an hour or two on a transition script, the number of Trello users will increase :)
Hi Magnus,
There are a few different ways to import data into Trello, but there's no native import function.
If you’re working with a spreadsheet program (like Excel) or a word processor (like Word), you can copy and paste your information directly into Trello to bulk-create cards. Each new line will be a new card, but this won't work if you've got a JSON from Favro.
If you’re comfortable working with an API, our API allows for full programatic data imports, and is definitely the best way to bring data in. The best starting point for our API is our API documentation, available here: https://developers.trello.com/
Finally, you might want to check out Zapier. It’s a third-party service that connects apps together, and has several integrations for Trello: https://zapier.com/zapbook/trello/
Guess that this is a good opportunity for me to learn Python and curl :)
