The Description field in a card is too big. It overwhelms the comments, which, over time, become more important than the description. I'd settle for resizing the windows, but I can't seem to grab the edge of the Description window. I can turn comments off and display only the description - I really need the other option as well, to turn off the Description and only show the comments.
Hi @Dan_,
We are working to make the Trello experience seamless for our users.
Our goal with the new design is to enhance personal productivity by providing improved functionality and usability.
I have to mention that our product team is very receptive to feedback. For example, the team has worked and released a few changes that are introduced solely because they are in high demand among users. The changes are described in this Community - https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Trello-articles/Board-Navigation-changes-based-on-Community-feedback/ba-p/3040942 post, as well as documented here if you'd like to take a look.
All the feedbacks by our users are being noted and worked upon. Please feel free to share your feedback as well with us and our team will look into it.
Thanks & regards,
Lipakshi
Hi @Dan_ ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Trello Community!
At the moment, there isn’t an option to close or hide the left side of the card, as it contains important card information. Additionally, the description box within a card can't be resized.
However, I want to let you know that we do have a feature request open to allow resizing the card back as a whole, which could help address your needs. You can view and track this request here:
🔗 TRELLO-1369: Allow resizing of the card back
Here’s how you can stay updated and support this feature:
Log in with your Atlassian account and click Start watching this issue on the right panel to receive email notifications about any updates.
Feel free to vote for the feature and add a comment explaining why this would be valuable for you—your feedback helps our product team prioritize improvements!
I hope this information is helpful.
Thanks & regards,
Lipakshi

This answers my question, but it doesn't solve the problem. I honestly can't explain the degree to which the usefulness of Trello has been diminished by this recent change in the way cards are displayed. I have used Trello for years, and this is the first time I am considering switching to a different product. I realize I am only using the free version, but I introduced Trello to my company before I retired. I wouldn't recommend it today.
