My archived items do not show

Hello !

The problem arises when I attempt to open archived items; they appear as placeholders and do not allow me to open them. Strangely, this issue only occurs when I search for an item. When I manually browse the archive, everything seems to look okay.

Initially, I thought Trello deleted archived items when they were too old. However, I've observed that some much older archived items are still working perfectly fine. This discrepancy raises concerns about potential data loss, particularly concerning PDF documents and images attached to the cards.

It seems you're experiencing a rather peculiar issue with archived items in Trello. If the problem only occurs during searches and not when manually browsing the archive, it might not be a case of data loss but could be related to the search indexing or a UI glitch.

  • Does this issue occur on a specific board or multiple boards?
  • When you mention that items appear as placeholders, is it that the preview is gone, or can you not access the data at all once the item is restored to the board?
  • Specifically for the PDF documents and images, are these attachments failing to load only in the search preview, or are they inaccessible even when you restore the archived card?

To resolve this, here's what you can do:

  • Sometimes, clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve display and loading issues.
  • You can raise a request at Trello's contact page and include the URL of the board(s) in question. we'll need to investigate the problem in detail, especially if it's a bug or unexpected behaviour of the system.

I know it might sound a bit basic, but sometimes the simplest solutions work wonders!
