Public boards. Can users add themselves and join the card and update

I have a public board and want people to interact. If the setting is public can people add themselves to the board and cards. I want them to be able to take card and take the task. Also tick off task list

@andrewjancey1 there is only self join from within a team, not from the public. If you have a public board you can allow people to comment without being a member of the board, but nothing else.

@Iain Dooley @can members respond to public comments with @mentions of the public users that commented? If yes, how are they notified?
