On the web based version there is an option within a card to get a “share to card” email so you can forward emails directly into an existing card, however, that function doesn’t seem to be available in the app. Is there a way to do this without using the web based version, for the majority of the time when I’m using my phone or iPad and not sitting at my desk?
Hey @Kevin Thueson
Right now there's no way to get the email address for a card from the mobile apps you can only do this from the desktop app but I can pass your interest in being able to do this over to our team.
Thank you. That is one of my favorite features and I mostly work from the mobile app and I think it would be great to have that same functionality.

How can you change the email address on that card? It has some random Trello email address and I never received the notification to grant access to person I shared it with.

Hey @Nicole Laing
There's no way for you to change the email address for a card, if you're wanting to be able to send emails to a specific address to update a card or board you'll need to set up an email alias in your email system and have this forward emails to the email address for your card.
The email-to-board/card addresses are also tied to your account so if your other board members we to look at the same card the email address would be different and any time an email is sent to the email address you see a card will show as being added to the board by your account. If you're wanting people who aren't board members to be able to email to the board and have it show as from them, you'll need to invite them to the board first and have them copy their email-to-board address.

Hi @Nicole Laing👋
Yeah, unfortunately it isn't possible with the Trello's Email-to-Card or Email-to-Board feature. Check out this post about a similar question.
However, with our Email for Trello Power-Up, you can use a custom email address. You can read more about that here.
You're welcome to pop over any questions to hello@sendboard.com or simply add the Email for Trello Power-Up to give it a try with a free trial.

@Christl de Wet I see - so when it says an email will be sent to that address is it just going into a nonexistent space?

@Nathan Smith interesting - so where are those emails going when it says an email will be sent to that address? I was only trying to share the card so someone would have visibility to it.

@Nicole Laing any emails you send to the email address to create a card on the board go into a Trello mailbox and are used to create a card on the board but this isn't a mailbox you're able to access as the email address is already linked to your Trello board.
If you're wanting to share your card with someone so they can view it the best thing for you to do would be to either make them a member of the board so they have access to the board, or make your board Public so anyone with the link can access it and this way you could just send the link to anyone you want to share the board with.

@Nicole Laing Emails sent to your custom email address (set up with the Email for Trello Power-Up) are sent to your board. The email is still saved in your inbox (e.g.Gmail/Outlook), but a copy is forwarded to your board. A card is created and the email is saved to that card (along with the contact details, attachments etc.) from where you can view/reply to the email.
Our Privacy Policy covers more detail about where/how this data is stored.
So essentially moving your mailbox into Trello so that you have all the power and functionality of Trello together with your email, all in one place, in Trello.
Hope that helps answer your question.
Feel free to send over any questions to hello@sendboard.com. We'd be happy to help.

I really only wanted them to have access to the card not the entire board - any options for that? @Nathan Smith
When someone requests access to the board/card - where does that go? I didn't get any emails notification. @Christl_Email for Trello

@Nicole Laing When someone requests access to a board, I believe that request will go to your email address (i.e. the one linked to your Trello user account). Permission requests for access to a board is not related to the SendBoard Power-Up. Our Power-Up integrates your mailbox with Trello so that you can send and receive emails in Trello.

@Christl_Email for Trello I thought so too but it didn't which is why I came to this platform! Oh well - I will find an alternative.

Hi @Kevin Thueson,
Hipporello has a robust email-to-Trello solution that allows you to make some detailed configurations easily.
Each email creates a unique Trello card and you can reply to the sender from inside the same card. The power-up works in mobile website. You can try it for free and then even stay on the free version if you don't need any premium features.

Thank you - I don't know if that would solve my problem. I clicked "Share", copied the link, and provided it to a team member so she can have access to the card. She told me she requested access but I never received any notification, therefore I assume permission to have access to that card went to that random email address.
Would your suggestion help with that?
