Hello, I am implementing mirrored cards from my workflow boards into my TODO list board and I sort cards on the TODO board based on colored labels and then by due date of the cards.
For some reason my mirrored card doesnt sort like the other cards, even if I put the same color and label on the original board.
Is there something I am missing on why its not being picked up for the "sorting" automations on the TODO board?
Hi Maxwell,
Currently mirrored cards can not be sorted on the board where they are mirrored to.
Some background on mirror cards: To avoid any syncing problems and delays, the mirror feature was developed in such a way that you actually end up working on the same card. A mirrored card is not a copy of a card that syncs back to the original - it is an original card that is displayed in a different location.
So, when you open a mirrored card, you actually see and edit an original card on the original board.
And because of that it is not affected by the sorting action on the target board(the board where the card was mirrored to), it can only be sorted on the source board(the board where the card was mirrored from).
We have received a fair amount of requests to be able to apply sorting to the mirrored cards, so we have opened a feature request for that. You can access it here: TRELLO-932
I would also recommend you visit that suggestion, log in with your Atlassian account, and click Start watching this issue on the right panel to receive notifications about in via email.
This feature request is already in the works, so hopefully, you should be able to do this soon enough. :)
One more thing to note—we're planning to support list sorting for Mirror cards very soon; however, this will only apply when sorting from the list menu, not when sorting via automation. We'll consider adding support for automated sorting as a future improvement as well—thanks for this suggestion!
