I use Trello Premium with the cronofy power up.
In the regular calender view in Trello I see the Cards due dates as well as the check list items due date. However in google calender I only see the Cards due date.
Before using cronofy, I used the regular google calender integration via the URL, however the result was the same.
Is there any kind of sync rule I need to edit?
The result should be to see ALL due dates (Cards and checklists elements) in the google calender and preferebly to change the due date in trello or in google calender (like cronofy).
Thanks!
Hi Julian, welcome to the community! :)
Are you currently making use of the Calendar Power-up, or the built in Google Calendar Integration?
The Calendar Power-up doesn't support viewing checklist items in Google Calendar.
Upon testing, the Google Calendar sync built into the view on Trello Premium should support it. As an example, I set up a test board and tested it. They look like this:
https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDurlZow
In this example, Payslips is the individual checklist item. System access tasks is the name of the checklist.
If you are using the built in one that's in the 2nd link - one thing to keep in mind is if you've since added checklist items with due dates (following subscribing in Google), it can take 12-24 hours for a sync to take place. Google suggests it refreshes once every 12 hours.
Hope that helps?
Hi Oliver,
thank you very much for your reply. Right now I use the cronofy powr up. Before I used the built in calendar integration provided by trello. However, I started to look for alternatives because I couldn't see the checklist-elements.
But for now, I will set everything "back to normal" and start with the built in calendar integration and wait 24h.
If the problem persits, I will reply and provide screenshots.

Hi Julian, no problems! :)
Normally when you first add the calendar it should populate with all cards (including checklist items with due dates) on the Google calendar side. The 12-24 hour sync time applies to all changes made on the Trello side from that point onwards. It is a one way sync - therefore once you make a change on the Trello side - e.g. add a new checklist item with a due date, it should come through on Google calendar within 12-24 hours.

Hi Oliver,
just to let you know: it works fine now with the built in calender. I was just a little too impatient to let the calender synchronize.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Julian, that's awesome to hear! :) No problems at all.

So let me get this straight; you're saying that you can NOT use Cronofy to make the sync faster if you want to see checklist item dates? Is that correct?

Hi Michael, you would need to confirm with the Cronofy team what they advise is the sync time for their Power-up, and whether it supports checklist items. Taking a look at the FAQ docs available, I'm unable to make a determination on this. Feel free to reach out via: trello@cronofy.com.

Cronofy user here with Outlook Calendar and also coming across the same issue and need realtime syncing of checklist items into the calendar. Trello team are there any additional updates on this working as to be able to use the checklist function (which I love and use a lot!)? I need the checklist items to also sync into my calendar at real time, other wise the checklist becomes obsolete when due dates are needed, as I will miss these on my calendar.
Please let us know what the most up to date solution is for checklist items syncing in real time with outlook calendar or cronofy. Thank you.

Hi Michael,
Understand the importance of being able to sync checklist items to the Calendar in realtime.
At present, the Premium Individual Board Calendar View supports syncing of checklist items to third party calendars, but this happens once every 12 hours. Understand this is not ideal as you need it in realtime. There is a feature request open with our product team to improve external sync speed, but don't have any ETA to provide at this time.
Some third party offerings may offer realtime sync, but would suggest testing / exploring these on a test board to see whether they offer what you need: https://trello.com/power-ups/search?q=calendar. Because many of these services are provided by separate companies, outside of Trello, any costs associated with their products are also separate. We're also not able to endorse or provide support for any third-party Power-ups (since we don't work with them directly).
Hope this helps! :)

Thanks for the response, unfortunately, not having the checklist due dates in the multiboard calendar view means that I cannot use the checklist as I need all my due dates in the same place.
Currently syncing trello to outlook calendar with cronofy so that I could have all of my due dates in the same place, however this only works for cards, the checklist items do not get synced which causes issues for me and our company. I have emailed cronofy to see if this could be added on there end, are you able to contact cronofy to assist with this from Trello's side? I see a lot of people are looking for this function for trello.
I really would like to see the feature of:
1. Checklist Items Syncing to Trello Calendar View for All Boards
2. Ability to also sync both card due dates and checklist item due dates to outlook calendar via cronofy or other affordable powerup. (would prefer native 2-way sync of course within trello)
It is a shame as the checklist feature is great but becomes obsolete for me without the ability to see all due dates in one place. If this does not get added soon then I am not sure how functional trello remains for me and I may consider moving to Asana, although would love to see the updates to trello and stay with trello as the overall experience is by far my preference.
I think trello is awesome but this seems like this issue a big flaw for PM use for our company as we use checklists/subtasks a lot. Thanks for your consideration. Do you have any updates as to where these features may be on the roadmap for trello please?
Thanks again for your time and consideration.

Hi Michael,
Appreciate your feedback.
For 1.
From our side, we have a feature request internally to be able to show advanced checklist items on the Workspace Calendar view (currently only show in the individual board Calendar view). I've gone ahead and linked this thread to it to pass on your feedback.
For 2.
You would need to reach out to Cronofy to see if they're able to add support in for checklist items. We support this in the built in board calendar view and sync functions, but as you've observed the sync interval is 12 hours due to the third party involved. The feature request to improve sync time has also been linked.
While I don't have an ETA for these features, they are present for consideration by our product team. Understand the importance of these features to you. Because many of these services are provided by separate companies, outside of Trello, we don't directly work with Third-party Power-ups to submit feature requests - as this is managed separately by the Power-up developers.
