We have multiple users under one account handling different aspects of the board. One of our users asked if an email can be sent whenever certain cards are created with labels that apply to her (we can't just add her as a user since we all operate under the same account). I see how to add the trigger but not sure where to go from there. Here's what I think is right:
1) Trigger: When a card is added to the boards, filter 'with the x label', and adding all the appropriate labels
2) Send an email notification to x@xxxxx.com
It works when it's a single label but do I need to make a new rule for every single label? Wouldn't that result in multiple emails? I'm just concerned that adding all the labels under the one filter would mean an email is only sent when all the labels are added, which won't be the case.
Hi there! Welcome to the Trello community. :)
Regarding your questions:
1 and 2 are both correct!
3 - When you add multiple labels in the trigger filter, it will be considered an AND. So, for the automation to run, it would need to match the all the conditions.
For example: when a card with a label X, a label Y is added a board - it will consider and when a card with label X and label Y.
There isn't the OR for an automation, unfortunately.
In this case it would work by creating an automation for each label to send a notification the an email, but indeed, would result in multiple emails notifications.
But I checked here and see we do have a suggestion open for this.
Here it is: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-489
I would recommend you visit that suggestion, log in with your Atlassian account, and click *Start watching this issue* on the right panel. This will help our product and engineering team understand more about which functionalities our users are interested in. Also, when the ticket is updated by our product team, you'll be notified via email.
Hope that clarifies your concerns.
Thank you so much, that does answer my question. Our method for now is to put all new cards into a "New" list and schedule a daily summary email of the new cards, then sort them to other lists at a later date. I appreciate your explanation!
