"Switch Boards" does not have a scroll bar - all our active boards are at the bottom of the screen

Karen Newcombe September 2, 2025

Hi Everyone,

Is there a trick for getting a vertical scroll bar in the "Switch Boards" window? We have dozens of boards, the default sort order appears to be forward date order. so the oldest boards are at the top and the ones that are actually active are at the bottom. Except you can't get to them because no scroll bar.

It seems like we can go down through the boards one at a time, but it stops for a few seconds on each line, so it takes bloody forever to get to the active boards.

DEVS take note: this particular window needs some work.

Thanks much.

You can change the view from list view to grid view and if you like pin the list view to the left (see image below) https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/navigation-in-trello/

Yes, I know the list/grid view, but neither of them has a scroll bar. It's fine if you have five boards and they all fit on the screen. If your company has 75 boards and you can't scroll through them, it's a problem.

It is strange that the scroll bar is not appearing on your screen. We tested it on different browsers and operating systems. I wonder if there is a browser extension that is disabling the scroll bar on your computer. Could you please try it on another browser to see if the problem persists?

Aha, Chrome is our default browser that IT wants us to use, but in Firefox I am not only seeing a very wispy gray scroll bar, the boards are sorted into categories: Starred, Recent, etc.

In Chrome there is no scroll bar and no sorting, it just shows a straight stack of boards in the order they were created, from oldest at the top to newest at the bottom.

So I wonder if it's a Chrome problem?  The only plugins/extensions I have for Chrome are PrintFriendly and GoFullPage, both for screen captures of different kinds.

I can use Firefox for now to go to Trello, thank you for the suggestion, that was helpful.

It should work fine on the latest version of the Chrome browser. Could you please update Chrome and reboot your computer to see if the issue was being caused by an old build or a caching issue.

No, I'll have to put in a ticket for IT to run an update, not sure how long that might take.  I have already tried emptying the cache though, that was the first thing I tried.

Double AHA!  I just clicked on "ALL BOARDS" instead of "My Boss's Workspace" and guess what happened?  The boards are Sorted and there's a beautiful freaking Slider Bar!  So the problem of these not appearing seems to be specifically when I am in someone's Workspace.  Now I feel like a dummy, I've been clicking around in this window off and on for days trying to sort it out.
