×Hi - I use the free Trello board, and would like suggestions on how to report on how long it takes to do a card (either with one task or numerous tasks) - this is in place of a work in motion, I want to show my mangers how much work we have as a team. Thank you for your help :) I already run a Jira project with whats still to do but would love for someone to show me how to show how much work we do.
Hi @Susan Burns
For teams utilizing the free version of Trello, demonstrating the volume of work accomplished to management can be a challenge. While Trello excels at visualizing workflows, it lacks a native feature for tracking the time spent on individual cards. This can make it difficult to quantify your team's efforts and showcase their productivity. Fortunately, there's a powerful solution that integrates seamlessly with your existing setup: Planyway.
Add the Planyway Power-Up to your Trello board. You can find it in the Power-Ups directory.
Authorize Planyway to access your Trello account.
Once enabled, you'll see a Planyway button on your Trello board, which opens a comprehensive calendar and timeline view of your cards.
With Planyway, you can start tracking time directly from your Trello cards in a couple of ways:
Live Timer: For tasks you're actively working on, you can start a timer directly from the Trello card. Once you stop the timer, the time entry is automatically logged.
Once you've started tracking time, you can use Planyway to generate reports that will provide a clear picture of your team's workload to your managers.
With a free Planyway account, you can:
View Time Entries in a List and Calendar Format: Within the Planyway interface, you can see a detailed breakdown of all time entries. This allows you to filter by team member, board, and date range to understand how time is being allocated.
Export Data to Excel: For more advanced analysis, the app allows you to export your data in Excel format.
Hi @Susan Burns ,
Welcome to the community!
I understand that you are looking for some sort of timer functionality so you can get an estimate of how much time you spend while working on one card and enter the time there, so you can show roughly how much time it's taking to complete the task.
We do not have built-in functionality within Trello for this, but you can check out third-party Power-Ups for the same. There are many Power-Ups that offer this functionality. You can go here :https://trello.com/power-ups search for timer-related Power ups .
Thank you!
