Template trello cards - do changes cascade?

We want to create a template card to be copied many times to manage individual items in a content project.

If at a later stage we change the template card eg. add another item to the checklist, will those changes cascade to all cards created from the template?

The changes performed on a template will not affect the cards created before the changes, as described in Creating Template Cards documentation
