Currently, I use a Butler rule on my Trello board that triggers whenever I add a checklist item inside a specific 'Project' card. For each item added to the checklist, Butler automatically creates a new card in the 'Inbox' list of the same board. This helps me break complex cards (which I call 'projects') into smaller, actionable subtasks and quickly see them appear in my workflow.
However, this only works for the 'Inbox' list within the same board. Butler cannot create or move cards into the new 'Inbox' section at the top of Trello, which is now the central, cross-board Inbox for all tasks. Since the new Inbox is a core part of the Trello experience and critical for productivity, it would be extremely valuable if Butler could support creating cards directly in the new Inbox section, even for users on the free plan.
This would enable help leveraging the Inbox in the way it is intended in the UI.
Hey @Daniel Schnitterbaum , Guilherme here from the Trello Support Team! :)
I definitely understand where you are coming from with this one! We do have a feature request for allowing our Automation system to work with the new Inbox. You can find that request here: [TRELLO-11121|https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-1121].
I have also added this ticket as an internal comment to this report so that way our engineering team can reference it and also use it to help align priority. I would also recommend you visit that suggestion, log in with your Atlassian account, and click *Start watching this issue* on the right panel and share your thoughts there.
This will help our product and engineering team understand more about which functionalities our users are interested in. Also, when the ticket is updated by our product team, you'll be notified via email.
You can learn more about this by reading our Implementation of New Features Policy: [New Features Policy|https://confluence.atlassian.com/support/implementation-of-new-features-policy-201294576.html].
Let me know your thoughts on this one.
Best regards,
Guilherme Michelotto
