I want to start basic but give some better structure to my 1:1s. Will there be a barrier to having 20 or so staff with a Trello board. Is there a limit to boards with free version? If I have them use a board for the 1:1's is there a limit to the number of boards I can collaborate with in free version?

Hi Austin,

I've been using Trello to keep track of 1-1 topics for a few years now and it's been really helpful. I'm an Individual Contributor, so only have one 1-1 with my manager every week.

I've found it works well for me (as the IC) to "own" the board. In the years I've had the board, I've had multiple different managers, and the board has remained constant. The board has myself and my manager as members, and has a list for each 1-1 meeting date, and an incoming list at the very front. Over the week, myself or my manager will add items to discuss into incoming and we'll triage the list and discuss in the meeting.

An alternative setup is the one in this 1-1 board template.

There are limits to the number of boards in Trello in the free version. You can have up to 10 boards per team in the free version.

Hope that helps,

Felix
