I think this blog post is a bit misleading: https://blog.trello.com/trello-mobile-offline
Unfortunately it doesnt provide the offline capabilities on an iOS as I would love to have. If I go to flight mode it says "you are offline".
It seems I to go to every (!) at least once to download it and then it available. But I am doubting I have to go to all relevant boards again to sync them, before I go offline again (even in my setting "background sync" is activated).
Long story short: A real offline capability like Evernote or todoist would be awesome. And not only for iOS, also for Win / Mac ... I would even sign up for premium just to get such a feature.
Evernote is not sexy, todoist is so-so, but Trello is really cool ... unfortunately not offline :-/
Hey Tim
On your 'Account' tab in the app, do you have sync enabled? Because I just tried the same thing and didn't get the issue. Once I hit airplane mode, I opened Trello and added a card to a board. Then after a minute, I turned airplane mode off and opened my Trello app. The changes were immediate on my web browser once I did that.
Hi Matthew,
This is correct.
But actually I am working most of the time the other way around, means: Creating and editing the cards online and when I am offline (i.e. while flying) I would love to edit my cards as well. But as far as I have found out the cards are not up to date unless I have opened all relevant (1st issue) cards before (2nd issue) before I switch to flight mode.
And you can imagine thats most likely not this stuff I would like to do before entering an air craft.
So, yes. Creating a card or board while being offline will be synced as soon as I am online again with the same device. Having all my cards offline in the latest version (means for me sync in background) doesn't work.
