@Hifzaan Sharieff There is a little workaround if you can't afford paid Trello. You could mention people in the checklist.
You would say, "Gmail Inbox @mike" for example
You could even set an automation to add a member to a card when they are mentioned in a checklist, "When a checklist item containing @{*}, add @{wildcard1} to the card".
Assigning check items is part of the "Advanced Checklists" feature, and is only available in paid plans of Trello - see https://trello.com/pricing
