Why don't I get notifications if I'm tagged in a "description" section?

Hello! I'm new to Trello and still figuring it out. For some reason, I'm notified any time my name is @ except if it's used in the description part of a card. Then I get nothing. Even if I check my notifications on the board, it won't appear. This usually results in my client calling to see why I'm not answering... Any ideas? Thanks!

Your client need to add you as member of this card, then you have the notification, otherwise not, or you could ask your client send to particular mail box that allows you to automatically create a card in particular list, and you will get notification from that...

Thank you! I see now that my name wasn't on the card, and even if I'm tagged in the description I won't get an email.
