Trello breaks when a column has too many items even if they are archived

We use Trello for bug tracking, and when we have a bad bug , we can get up to 1000 reports in a single list. When i want to move that column to a different workspace to delete it, (because Trello won't actually let you delete a list of course!) it says 'synching' and then sits there for a few seconds and makes the list reappear. I assume rather than moving the link to the list, it actually moves every single item individually and then times out on the server.

So, if you have 1000 items in a list, how exactly are you supposed to delete it (as you HAVE to move it first) without Trello locking up?

That sounds very frustrating and looking in to it, you're clearly doing all the steps right outlined by Trello here. With that in mind my suggestion would be to talk directly to Trello support to see what the issue could be.
