A lot of people post in the community asking about ways to mirror cards. I hadn’t interacted with this much myself, as my goal has always been to have one main board and use filters to find what I need. But after seeing how often it’s come up here, and being approached by Unito to test out their new workflow tools, I decided to give mirroring a try.
And of course, I wanted to see how it interacted with my favorite power-up, Crmble! A common use case could be someone who wants to keep track of their leads in their own board, but also has a manager who needs to be able to see things on their own board.
So I decided to see how easy it would be to set up a quick test. Here goes.
1. Create a board to manage my leads.
Well, Crmble makes that easy peasy. I just create a board called "My Leads", add the Crmble power-up, authenticate, then go to the settings --> Crmble Lists, and click "Add default layout" and... viola!
2. Next, I'll create a board for a manager - who wants to view ALL the leads.
Same process... and I have another board! Now I just need to make them talk to each other. That's where Unito comes in.
3. Hook up the magic with Unito workflows!
Unito has always had the ability to sync leads together, but with their latest update you can visually map out your workflows with a drag and drop feature.
Introducing workflows.
Just create blocks showing where work happens and then connect them. I created one block for "My Leads" board, and another block to show "Manager" board.
Connect the two blocks together and you're done!
By default, the sync will go both ways.
So now, when I add a new lead to My Leads board...
And works! When I add a new lead to My Leads, it also shows up on the Manager board.
I can also specify how something should map if it's not obvious. For example, if I want a change in a description to update a title on another board, I can update that in the Field Mappings section.
At this time, it doesn't look like there's a way to map the Crmble fields to each other, which is a bit of a bummer if you need to be able to access that on both boards. But in our example, a manager probably is most interested in the volume of unique leads, and not so much having a master dashboard of all their contact info. If this is the case, then you can still use the My Leads board to house all of the information, and the Manager board to keep count of all the leads.
What do you all think? How could this be improved? What other power-ups would you add into the mix to create a network of leads?
