Hi,
I would like to have different templates on a board to create different type of cards. When I add/delete a custom field to a template this change seems to happen on all templates and cards. How can I create templates that have unique custom fields?
I know quite a few people using the Amazing Fields powerup (https://trello.com/power-ups/60e068efb294647187bbe4f5) to do this type of workflow. You can define all your fields and then filter which ones are used per card to define a template set you want to use.
You mileage may vary as Amazing Fields isn't a powerful for automation and integration as custom fields are, but it may be enough for your use case.
Hi @patrick ! Welcome to the community :) when you create a custom field, it gets added at the board level, not the list or card level. So when adding, removing, or modifying custom fields, all cards on the board will be affected. Would it make sense to have seperate boards for each card type? Having seperate boards may mean less visibility of all cards in one view, but there are ways to create overviews of cards from many boards. Happy to provide more detail if that sounds like a viable option.
