Hello
I'm working on a few Power BI reports after months of building them up on Excel using Power Query. So far I was using the downloadable Json board file. When migrating to PBI, I've found the option to use the API, however, this has proven to be quite restrictive when compared to the JSON file.
As there is the web JSON file (accessed through the browser, not by download), I've been trying to connect to it instead, in order to get more of a live result.
The web JSON file does work fine from public boards, but I would like to use it for private boards. Power BI asks me to provide credentials, but the API keys don't work. What would be the best way to get this out of the way?
Thank you!
Hi Rodrigo,
Thanks for reaching out!
I'm not familiar with Power BI reports, but it sounds like you need your API key and token, which you can get here: https://trello.com/app-key.
Also, your use-case sounds familiar to another user's and they got this connection to work following these steps: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Trello-questions/How-can-I-connect-Trello-to-Power-BI-like-a-Web-source/qaq-p/664331#M15820
I hope that helps!
All the best,
Lara

Lara,
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately, as I mentioned in my question, although this does work, it is too limited. Instead of accessing it through Trello's API, I would like to access the complete web JSON file (i.e. https://trello.com/b/<boardid>.json)
I can access this when the board is in 'public' mode, but when I switch it to 'private', I'm being asked for an authentication which I do not have.
