Why is my home page empty?

I have several boards but the ‘home page’ option just shows an empty space.

It might be that there hasn't been any activity (e.g. comments), cards that are "up next" or have due dates coming up, overdue cards, or cards that require your attention (e.g. you were mentioned in a comment).
