What trees are in your backyard?

Welcome to Likes for Trees Four, in full-swing throughout the month of July!

To see the six ways you can plant trees right now, check out this post.  You can also help by posting some tree pictures in this thread, and this year we'd love to see the trees that grow on your block or outside your front door or even right in your backyard.

To kick us off, here is the apricot tree our neighbors gave us when we moved into our house, 15 years ago.   I tried to get an "after" pic at the same angle, but it's just a picture of leaves because it completely covers the shed now! So I took a picture from the other side.  It now gives us hundreds of apricots every summer and I love watching it shift with the seasons here in Northern California.

So show us your local trees!

The trees are fairly small at our apartment complex - it's not very old. Of course, Glacier National Park near by is full of LOTS of trees of various types. From our apartment: Junipers and American Basswood

My neighbour has this black locust that is maybe even 20 years old. It makes quite a nice shade for my garden house first half of the day. :))

And I've got a couple of these Cigartrees in my backyard, 1 small pine tree and 1 cherry plum.

It's actually quite nice considering all exterior work came with the new house 🌳🌲🌞

Unfortunately, I live in an apartment and don't own a backyard, but I love seeing everyone's beautiful photos! 🌳 Wishing that I one day have a beautiful backyard filled with beautiful trees and many flowers (including peonies - my favorites!) 🤍🌸

Surprisingly, I currently don't have any pictures of trees in my neighborhood, but here are some trees from the last time I went to Yosemite.

Austin's got a TON of native trees, and one of my favorite local resources to learn more about the natural plants in the area is the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center - at the center there's a whole tree walk with native trees at various stages of growth as the center focuses on conservation 💚

Not directly in my backyard, but just behind it—I absolutely love this view, and it was one of the main reasons we chose this house. Starting my day with a cup of coffee in the backyard and soaking in this scenery is hands-down my favorite daily ritual. It’s a great reminder of how beautiful and restorative nature can be.
