It's Friday in Sydney!
September 26th is World Tourism Day. For today's Feel Good Friday, I'd love to hear positive ways tourism impacts your life - whether its travelers visiting your local area or your favorite places to travel! (Need to add to my list of places to visit!)
Great topic. Far too many to list :-) But from my recent trip last year to Goa in India. Really beautiful beaches, perfect weather and great food.
I love the city where I live - Milwaukee has great restaurants, beautiful parks, lots of art, and excellent museums!
I absolutely loved traveling to Japan last year!
Good topic, @Amanda Barber!
I love to travel. I have known people who vacation in the same place every year for decades. Although there are some places I'd like to return to and spend more time (Rome, Paris), I generally like to travel to new places. I'm looking forward to Ireland, Australia, Alaska, and the Grand Canyon.
Living 15 miles from Walt Disney World, there are a lot of travelers visiting my local area. At some times of the year, our restaurants, parks, and roads are very full, but we would not have the variety of venues without all of the tourists.
I'm with you - I love visiting new places. The only places I enjoy traveling to repeatedly are to visit with family.
I'd love to visit Alaska and Australia, too!
Nice topic @Amanda Barber , around September 26th a few years ago, I was traveling coast-to-coast across the USA - it was one of the most incredible journeys of my life! We started in New York and ended in San Francisco, exploring countless cities along the way, and trying traditional food for those cities. Since my friends and I were on a road trip, we could stop anywhere we wanted. The highlights? Definitely the Grand Canyon, the Hoover Dam, and an unforgettable stop in Beverly Hills, where our car broke down :)
For me, tourism is vital for local businesses - cafés, artisans, and small museums. It keeps culture vibrant and gives locals more opportunities to share their traditions. Unfortunately, tourism in my city isn’t very developed at the moment, but it’s exciting to see more and more authentic cafés popping up. I think it’s a great sign of growth.
I so agree with you @Daria Kulikova_GitProtect_io about the locals. We love to try coffee, bakery and restaurants of the locals instead of chains.
This is my favorite topic. I can talk about tourism all day long! 😍
Since my childhood, I have been travelling with my parents all over India like North, South, East and not much of West yet. That made me love traveling 🥰 Became a traveler instead of a tourist. And also as my name means "to explore" so somehow I keep resonating to that a lot 😉
Hence after moving to USA, I have travelled with friends and now with family as well. We have covered 24 National Parks out of 63 so far. 🏞️ And I hope to complete all of them someday!
Our all time favorites are Hawaii and Alaska. Both are total opposite weather but love them for their beauty and specially the food in Hawaii ❤️
For me, tourism is all about experiencing beautiful nature, exploring different cultures, and (most of all) enjoying amazing food 🍲🌿
Every trip feels like a little adventure for my senses and gives me memories I can carry with me long after I'm back home. I just came back from spending 4 weeks in Fiji, and it was such a beautiful experience 🌴💙
