Your favorite/best tools to use!

I am new to the community and I'm trying to get a feel for different tools to use for many different types of work.  I am just wondering what everyone's opinions are about their favorite tools to use and how it helps the most with your work/project?

Atlassian is so diverse! Can you tell me more about about what type of work you are doing?

There are so many tools out there, especially if you are also looking outside the Atlassian eco system. 

One thing that never leaves my side though, is a notebook and pen.
