Did you mean:

"You may have recently posted the same thing elsewhere on the community"?

Hi, I'm trying to post a comment and I get the following messages every single time: "You may have recently posted the same thing elsewhere on the community. Update your text, or wait before reposting." The problem is that I have not posted the comment in question anywhere else before.

I think I've experienced this, might be worth closing all browsers and logging back into community. Worked for me if I remember correctly.

This message happens in two cases.

First, when you really are posting the same thing again - the idea is to stop people doing copy and paste spam (and incidentally repeated marketing - we have had a problem with people basically prepping a single block of text plugging their app and necroposting it on hundreds of questions that it's often not relevant to)

Second, it's the message displayed when you're being rate-limited.  I see it sometimes when I've had a run through recent posts and answered too many in one go.  I think the cooling-off is an hour, at least for veterans - if you get the message, give it an hour and try again.
