Welcome Wednesday: Merry Christmas! - What are your favorite cookies?

Happy Wednesday Merry Christmas Everyone!

A tradition in our house, is to leave milk and cookies out for Santa. The kids always love helping to put a plate and glass of milk out with the excitement of possibly getting a sneak peak at Santa enjoying the treat. Amazingly, the cookies we leave out for Santa are the exact same ones that I love to eat.

My question for you this week: What are your favorite cookies?

For me, I’m going to give two answers. At Christmas time, I LOVE gingerbread. Christmas is the only time that I have them and we will actually make out own we won’t just have store bought ones. Any other time, I really like Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip Raisin cookies. I know I’m not making any friends with this as people seem very torn about what you put in an oatmeal cookie. I’ve always enjoyed both!

At Christmas time, I love my great-grandma's Peanut Butter Pinwheels. Sharing the recipe here, but will add that I always prefer to cut them a bit thicker! 

My husband requested pffernusse a few years ago and it's become a new favorite, too! Sort of like gingerbread.

Otherwise, I love a soft, double chocolate cookie. Yum! 😋

Cookies, cookies and more cookies 🍰🍪

I'm not a fan of gingerbread (hope I won't get kicked out of the group now 😅). Around Christmas holidays we have a lot of different cakes and cookies - mostly dry ones. I think I've tried at least 15 different deserts in these few days I'm at home.

I think what I love the most are 'Šeširići' (eng. 'Hats' 🎩; recipe) - not necessarily Christmas cookies but grandma tries to make them around Christmas and for some special events. Everyone loves chocolate and these always vanish in a matter of hours 😋

As for others, some that stood out the most these year are 'Princes Krofne' (eng. 'Cream Puffs'; recipe) and some peanut butter cookies I've tried at my uncle's. So thanks for the recipe @Amanda Barber 😄

Although most things look delicious, recommendation is to eat everything in moderation!

Amazing tradition! 

My family likes gingerbread at Christmas. Also, for the third year in a row, we also enjoy Stollen during Christmas time. 

My daughter used to try to catch Santa, she not only left cookies and milk for him but also made traps to catch him :)

Favorites include my grandmother's ginger cookie recipe and my mother-in-law's raisin filled cookies. But I must confess I enjoy just about any cookie any time of the year.

Tomorrow, I am baking my fourth batch of gingerbread cookies to give to family and friends for the holidays, and I make my favorite oatmeal cookies for afternoon snack all the time.

Just back from my Christmas holiday. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

I've always been partial to my grandmother's Christmas cookie recipe, but I can't handle rolling out dough, cookie cutters, and decorating without any appreciative children to help me out. 😁

I always made Russian Tea Cookies for my dad, but he has troubles now if he breaths in the powder sugar they are rolled in.

So, now, I just make the very easy Magic Cookie Bars. I am also very glad that my sister, who has much more time to bake, now lives around the block.
