Happy Wednesday Everyone!

This past weekend was the opening weekend for our local community summer market. They will be in the parking lot of the community centre every Saturday from 9am - 1pm. There are all sorts of businesses that setup stalls to sell their goods and my wife and I absolutely love checking it out! In addition, there is a playground nearby that the kids enjoy while we take turns looking through the market.

My question for you this week, Do you have a local market that you attend or are able to attend? If so, what is your favorite item you have picked up from there? If you don’t have a local market is there a local small business that you support? and what items do you buy from them?

Personally, when we were at the market last year, there was a pork farm that sold some sausages without any fillers! They were there this past weekend and I was able to get another couple of packages.

We have a market in a big parking lot in my neighborhood on Mondays and Fridays. Generally, we buy vegetables there, but I have also bought a neoprene bag, homemade baked goods, and tickets for events in the neighborhood.

I can't survive a day without eggs, and I always buy them from local farms to support the hens' happy outdoor lives. We have a very good online delivery service that works with local farms around my area, and if it fits my needs, I always prefer supporting this business over mass production.

One a week I go visit the local market where over 10 farms bring produces. Always fresh and always good!

I'd love to visit our farmers' markets more regularly this year. They happen weekly on Sundays in my city, but a neighboring city offers them on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so sometimes we'll stop by that one if the timing is better. Tis the season! 🥦🌾

Yes, almost every community in the US has one - and typically they are called Farmer's Markets. We have one here in Kalispell that opened the first Saturday in May. We will visit it quite often through the Summer. We picked up some nice flowers, and some kettle corn already.

Farmer's market is great. Always something neat to try. Whether it's homemade Jam, different kinds spread, or various bake goods. At least the ones I go to have always been friendly.

I don't have a go to thing. I 'm always on the look out to try find things that I normally don't find at the grocery store or something completely new.

Often times when I visit another city that has a farmer's market going on, I'm there and I'm ready to hunt down some goodies.

We have a farmers market within walking distance every Sunday, plus 2 more a short bus ride away, we also try and buy meat from local butchers who obtain their produce from local farms.  Although living in London, local farms means 20+ miles away.

We have a farmers market just south of our city. It's great and has events most weekends. Local fresh goods. Its an awesome spot!

While I don't have a local farmer's market to support, I try to balance the time savings and ease of ordering items on Amazon or other online marketplaces with the need to support local businesses and owners. If I am in a store, I will usually compare the prices for a product to the price I can obtain said product for online. Depending on the nexus between pricing, I will often pay more for the item at the local store over saving money from the online purchase.

I have a local market nearby, and the best part of having it so close is the opportunity to support people who often put their whole hearts in running these small businesses. Besides buying non GMO, fresh vegetables and fruit, I really like to support them sometimes by bringing in egg extrusions that I collect first - also happy to contribute to the reuse :)
