We use Teams and Jira integration; we were using webhooks and automation to send formatted notifications to specific Teams chats / channels, but a change in company security policy has squashed that functionality so I'm looking into new ways to do that.
I've been using Jira and Confluence throughout my entire marketing career. Here are the top 3 Marketplace apps I found most helpful:
1. Structure by Tempo
When the team grows 2x within a couple of years, you need to find a way to get through hundreds of work items and show stakeholders clearly what's planned and why.
With the Structure app, it took us just 2 screens to achieve this! The speed and flexibility of zooming in and out from a full portfolio of 40+ marketing projects down to a single issue within a sprint are mind-blowing š¤Æ
The Structure.Pages add-on allowed me to review drafts and concepts without leaving Jira, so I could stay in context all the time.
It was a critical tool for us to scale Agile marketing and improve team efficiency. I spoke about this during Jira Day 2023 and made it into an article here on the Community. The Tempo team took it further and created a full case study on their website. How do you call this if not teamwork?
2. Google Workspace, Figma, and Miro connectors to Confluence (ex aequo)
Today, things like that are available on Cloud natively, at least to an extent. But during my Data Center times, these apps were lifesavers!
Everyone could still use their favorite tools, but we kept the work results visible and created a unified deliverable repository in our Confluence space, from sales calls to product designs. Confluence became the go-to place for everyone to see what others were doing and leave feedback asynchronously. This gave us unprecedented transparency in remote collaboration - inside and across teams and even with external contractors.
3. Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence
Everywhere there's work, there's data. And you probably know what a pain in the arse Confluence tables can be when it comes to anything slightly more complex š
The number of analytics tools and data points used in marketing and sales is overwhelming. There's CRM, deal attribution, web traffic and conversions, SEO ranking positions, digital ads, email marketing, social media, events and webinars, out-of-home...
Do you already feel the vertigo? Now imagine a CMO trying to put together a cohesive story out of all this stuff or, even worse, a CEO who doesn't even know where to look for the information they need.
My normal quarterly reporting workflow used to look like this:
Go to each tool and communication channel that provides relevant data.
Export everything to Excel, or make screenshots.
Manually merge 5-10 spreadsheets and analyze the findings.
Manually copy everything to a Confluence page.
Swear and fix the tables to look like I want them to.
...
I hated this process as much as I love digging into data to uncover insights in general!
But now that I have Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence, I find it much easier to complete reporting tasks. I can connect a data source directly to Confluence or copy a snapshot to an embedded fully functional spreadsheet, then slice & dice however I want, and visualize the results with the help of 15 interactive charts that update themselves together with the underlying data, like when I filter the source table!
This app allows me to create a live dashboard from multiple data sources on a Confluence page, add my comments for better understanding, and reuse its parts on other pages. Now I know for real that someone actually reads marketing stuff!

I've been remote since 2013, and the tool I could not do without is Lucidchart/Lucidspark. It is excellent as a synchronous brainstorming, design, and SOPs creation tool and for asynchronous teams that need a source of truth, to approve designs, briefs, etc.
Agile team efficiency and productivity has specifically improved for nearly every team I have worked with especially in asynch teams. With Lucid, POs could groom the backlog; next part of the team could knock out sprint planning and starting the sprint; and review and retro insights can still be communicated between team members by posting their part of the sprint or scrum ceremonies while they had been working. This greatly reduces time waste waiting on the next team members to complete their part and eliminates the near-impossibility it can be trying to wait until the cosmos perfectly align just so your full team can meet and exchange information!
