New app on the Marketplace. 4in1: Checklist, Reminders, Custom Field Finder and Time in Status.

Hey Atlassian Community! 👋

I'm super happy to announce, we’ve (with gryd.io team) just released a new Forge-based app that brings together some of the most requested lightweight Jira enhancements—all in one tool. No context-switching, no heavy plugins.

It's called Power Tools for Jira

🔧 What’s included?

✅ Checklists – Add, edit, and track checklist items right inside your issues. Great for QA, content reviews, or onboarding steps.
✅ Reminders – Set custom reminders with messages and deadlines. When a reminder expires, a comment is added and the reporter is mentioned.
✅ Time in Status – Automatically track how long each issue stays in a given status—perfect for spotting blockers.
✅ Custom Field Finder (Admin) – Instantly search and copy custom field IDs—no more digging through Jira settings just to automate or integrate something.

And now some use cases 😊

📌 Use case 1: Find custom field ID in 5.

Ever tried to set up an automation rule or integration that depends on a custom field ID… but had to spend 5 minutes finding it in Jira settings?

With Custom Field Finder, just type the field name, get instant suggestions, and copy the ID in one click. It’s a lifesaver for scripts, APIs, and dynamic forms.

📌 Use case 2: When checklist > sub-task

Checklists are perfect for breaking down an issue into small, low-effort actions that don’t require full sub-task structure.
They’re great when the item:

  • doesn’t need its own workflow (like “In Progress”),

  • doesn't require assignees, comments, or estimates,

  • just needs to be marked as done quickly.

For example:
A marketing task “Prepare event page” might have checklist items like:

  • “Add speaker photo”

  • “Insert form link”

  • “Update event time”
No need to create 3 separate subtasks—just track it inline.

Checklists also work as a third level of hierarchy, especially useful under subtasks, giving teams fine-grained visibility without cluttering the board.

📌 Use case 3: Ops team handling recurring requests

An internal operations team handles dozens of recurring Jira requests—equipment orders, access setups, data pulls.

Each issue includes a predefined checklist to ensure no step is skipped (e.g. “Approve request”, “Assign device”, “Update inventory”).

Team members use reminders to follow up if a request sits idle for more than 48h, triggering notifications and keeping things moving.

Time in Status lets managers monitor bottlenecks and ensure SLA times are met across various request types.

The app works for every project type.

💡 If your team works at scale and needs a lightweight, focused productivity boost, this app might be the one tool you’ve been missing.

We’d love your feedback—questions, thoughts, or suggestions welcome!
