Hi

I would like to know how I can configure or view a structure in Jira with the following hierarchy:

Client → Project → Activities

My goal is to have a simple way to identify which client is associated with each project, and within each project, track the tasks/activities in progress.

Is there any native functionality or best practice recommended for this type of organization in Jira (free version, using Kanban)?

Thank you in advance for your guidance!

Hello @Yago Popoviche Giuliani Lopes

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

When you say "project" are you referring to the Jira Project entity or are you using "project" more generically?

In Jira the Project entity is the container for work items.

There is not field at the Jira Project level that you can set to identify that the Jira Project is relevant to a single specific Client.

There are other options available natively, though.

Within a Jira Project you could create Epic type work items to represent a "project" for a specific Client. You could have a custom field in the Epic work item that you could use to specify the client. You can add Child work items to the Epic for the work needed to complete that Epic/project for that Client.

To make it easier to collect all the child work items in the above scenario you might want to also use the custom field identifying the Client in each of the child work items.

You did not say what type of view you want, but you mentioned "kanban". Jira software projects natively support the use of a Kanban style board (as well as Scrum style boards). You could have custom filters set up on the board to reduce the display to show the work for one client or a subset of clients, or clear the filter setting to show work for all clients at once.
