Hi everyone,

WBS Gantt in our Jira project suddenly ceased to work properly.

Whenever we try to set an issues „manual” option to „yes”, after refreshing the gantt chart it resets to the default „no”.

I did the following:

(1)    Set „manual” to „Yes” modify the „start date”, and save.

(2)    After saving, everithing looks fine.

(3)    Clicked refresh, and everithing jumped back to default, and corrected the start date according to the dependency, which it should not because of the „manual” setting.

I tried to modify the settings from the jira end in „table” view:

(1)    Clicked in the issue.

(2)   Clicked in the „Open WBS Gantt Chart” option and modified the „start date” and the „Manual mode” to „On”

(3)    Upon closing and reopening the issue, all the modifications were lost.

Lastly, the settings of the addon, and the issue window showed a couple of errors:

Modified the settings, to „(Create new custom field)” and clicked update, so the page looked like this:

After refreshing the page, every modifications become lost:

Has this happened before to anyone? Why is this happening?

Hi @Berényi Barnabás Vilmos

Thank you for posting! I’m Charlotte from WBS Gantt-Chart support team.

Is this project a Team-managed one?

If so, this issue must be happening due to API specification changes in Atlassian Cloud, which began rolling out in late February 2025, team-managed projects can now only retrieve data from fields that have been explicitly added to the project.

As a result of this restriction, if fields such as the start date are not added to the team-managed project, WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira will be unable to retrieve their values.

Therefore, it’s important that you add to the project the same fields that are configured in your Global Issue configuration, to check that follow the steps below:

  1. Click the gear icon ⚙️ to open Jira settings;
  2. Select Apps;
  3. Find WBS Gantt-Chart in the left column and select Issue;
  4. There you will be able to see which fields you use:

Make sure to add the fields in your configuration to the project. For more information on that, and a video with the step-by-step, please refer to our documentation here: Start Date and Other Gantt-Chart Data Missing in Team Managed Project

I hope this clarifies things out for you, however don't hesitate to share your doubts or questions about the app. We’ll be happy to help you! 😉

Hi @Berényi Barnabás Vilmos , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your post.

I would open a ticket to the vendor about this as it sounds like a bug or something they need to intervene to help you with https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211768/wbs-gantt-chart-for-jira-enterprise-project-management?hosting=cloud&tab=support

Best wishes
