XRAY - Automation without maual work

Hello,

We have test automation as part of definition of Done.  Given test automation is in place, i'd like to have new test case creation and test evidence to be loaded to Jira as no touch for developers.  Both of these are achievable via XRay API.

Are there any best practices / workflows on:

1. how to identify new test cases vs existing test cases, so that new test cases are automatically created when first executed

2. how do you know what Story to link the new test case.

3. creation of test executions:

a) how is regression test managed as the volume of test cases grows and we dont want  to overwhelm Jira

b) new stories and test executions - what's a good trigger for creation of this test execution.
