XRay not generating document

Using XRay Jira plugin version: 7.11.2-j9

When generating document with Doc. generator the export process starts with the dialog:

Xray is generating your document.

showing progress bar reaching some partial status (eg 29%) then it stops without any errors. Left there for more than 30 minutes with no progress or error.
