Zephyr test case export

Manoj Kumar July 21, 2025

Hello Champions,

I want to export the Zephyr test cases using a JQL, but if I use JQL, then it does not fetch the test cases data, e.g., test steps, test results.
If I am exporting it through the Zephyr exporter, then there is no option to use JQL. Currently, we don't have any plugin like an exporter, etc.
When I export all the test cases then it does not export all the test cases. e.g, we have 20k and it is exporting 2.7k only in the file.
Let me know if there is any workaround available to export the test case using JQL or export all test cases at once.

Hi @Manoj Kumar

You can only use the Zephyr options, Zephyr has no JQL clause to use and within Zephyr you can'y use JQL.

Also, "Only non-BDD tests (excluding BDD Scenarios and BDD Features) can be exported"

SO if you have test cases written in BDD, they can't be exported via the exporter.

You could look at the Zephyr API, https://support.smartbear.com/zephyr-scale-cloud/api-docs/#tag/Test-Cases/operation/listTestCaseshttps://support.smartbear.com/zephyr-scale-cloud/api-docs/#tag/Test-Cases/operation/listTestCases

Otherwise contact Smartbear support (developer of Zephyr)

@Manoj Kumar You can export Zephyr test cases using these two apps to Excel and PDF.

You haven't mentioned your desired output format, so there is both:

  1. Better Excel Exporter to export to XLSX files
  2. Better PDF Exporter to export to PDF files

Compared to a relatively dumb CSV file, the XLSX spreadsheets look like this:

Note that both:

  1. support test steps
  2. support test results
  3. support JQL (as it can be used from the Issue Navigator)
  4. scale to large number of tests (which themselves are work items)

You can try them free!

(Discl. these paid and supported apps are developed by our team. Free for 10 users!)
