I am trying to change my email to use email aliases provided by Proton. However, Atlassian tells me that the email is invalid and it does not allow me to use it.

The email format is : `alias.random111@passmail.net`

More than a year later, same issue. That's pretty annoying

Atlassian made it very clear, they won't ever change this so anyone of the few hundred million people who use private email services will need to move away from atlassian products and go elsewhere, there's plenty of alternatives and competitors for all the atlassian products, vote with your feet and move to a competitor!

I can confirm the issue with another domain. It seems that there is a whitelist of allowed domain names and everything else is considered invalid.

The email address I'm trying to use has only Latin characters in both the address and the domain name, ending in .net:

[a-z]{6}@[a-z]{6}.net

I get:

Email invalid
The provided email address is not allowed, please use a different one

Error code in XHR request:

change-email.form.new.email.error.restricted.domain

It's a custom domain used with the trusted email provider, so I'm sure it's not explicitly restricted (unless you block .net).

Atlassian, change your email policy, there are many similar complaints here. And there's not even a way to contact support, it's just 'ask community'
