Hi. I need to delete an organization my colleague accidentally created. It is "empty" (no data involved), how do I delete it?
Thanks!
Steinunn
Hi @Steinunn M_ Sigurbjörnsdóttir
Welcome to the community!
You must be a Jira administrator to delete an organization from a site.
To delete an organization from a site:
From your service project, go to Customers.
Select an organization in the Customers list.
Select Delete organization.
You can also manage all of your organizations and delete them in Jira Service Management in product settings. This action is only available to Jira admins.
In the top right hand corner of the screen, select Settings > Products > Organizations.
Select an organization from the list by clicking its name.
Select More.
Select Delete organization.
Select Add.

If you are referring to the process of deleting an Atlassian Access Organization, specifically the one located at admin.atlassian.com.
Atlassian doesn’t currently allow deleting an organization once it’s created through the admin UI. Even if it’s empty, an organization acts as a container for domains, security policies, and directory management.
Atlassian currently doesn’t offer a deletion option for organizations in Atlassian Cloud. This is intentional for security and data integrity, even if the org is "empty".
You can contact Atlassian Support and request they decommission or archive the organization. However, for empty organizations, they typically advise leaving it unused or renaming.

Thank you Sam, that is exactly what I was referring to. Somehow an employee managed to create a new organization and now when I log in to admin.atlassian.com, I have to choose which one I am logging into. It's annoying and I do not understand how this could happen... But I guess I just have to live with it.
