Is there anything that needs to be done on the Atlassian side in my Jira/Confluence instance to enable this? I see instructions for Claude, but nothing on the Atlassian side. Also what if I want some of my projects excluded from this interface? Can I make some projects as "private"?
Are there any plans to have the option to limit MCP integration to being read-only globally? Ideally, we should also be able to define permissions for the MCP read/write ability per project/space.

Hi everyone - we’re thrilled by the excitement around the launch! We’re actively working with partners to bring Remote MCP support to more tools - stay tuned.
@Kun Chen Hi, great work here - am wondering if 2LOi would be supported when using Atlassian MCP sever in SSE mode with shared client and if there is documentation for this method.
I'm sure the team is aware, and the pace of change with MCP is frantic, but the SSE transport is deprecated. In fact, when you try and connect using the Anthropic MCP Inspector:
New SSE connection. NOTE: The sse transport is deprecated and has been replaced by streamable-http Query parameters: [Object: null prototype] { url: 'https://mcp.atlassian.com/v1/sse', transportType: 'sse' }
I'm sure you are across it.
Super excited to add support for it in our MCP Client as soon as you open up the callback whitelist. Will we need to register for that? Or is it just work in progress?
Please add support for a wider range of MCP clients. Right now it appears to only support Claude and localhost redirects in the auth flow. Other clients receive an error like this one:
The redirect URI is not allowed, the URL is not part of Atlassian whitelisted domains for registered MCP Clients.

Hi everyone, many of you shared the feedback that it would be helpful to be able to use the MCP server from your IDEs or other desktop apps. Our team has been hard at work to address this, and today we're happy to share that we just shipped an update to the MCP server that now allows local clients to connect to it!
We are using your mcp-atlassian. We have confirmed that it works well with stdio and SSE, but do you have any plans to support the streamableHTTP method as well?
