Automation "Edit page" action now available in Confluence and Jira

Hi Community!

We’ve heard your feedback - editing Confluence pages through automation has been one of your top requests. We’re excited to announce the new “Edit page” action, now available in Confluence, Jira, and Jira Service Management

If you're using this new action, make sure to check out support for rich text editing, giving you more options for formatting and styling the content you're creating with automation.

We want to hear from you!

Are you exploring new or creative use cases for agentic automation? Have ideas for how we can make content automation even better, when using Rovo Agents with automation? Share your feedback in the comments below or reach out for a chat with the Automation team.

Thanks for helping us shape the future of automation at Atlassian!

That's great @Charlie Gavey . Thanks for sharing.

Does it support all the A4J smart values?

Regards,
Sami.

This is something we've been looking forward to for a long time - I've been using various "hacks" via API calls to achieve this. Happy to hear that we can now use out-of-the-box automation action for this ✨

Thank you! 🙏

I like where you're going but please add the function to "Find and replace" text in a Confluence page with Automation.

My use case: I could put placeholders in my template and when it's used and published, Automation fills out the placeholders with values like space name.

@Sami Shaik It sure does! If you're building your automation in Jira, you should have access to all the usual smart values.

@Lori Brown Let us know once you've tried this out - would love to hear your use cases, and if there's any other improvements you'd like to see :-)

@Richard Schmidt Love this idea! We've passed this onto the team, but in the meantime, it could be worth checking out what's possible when using a Rovo Agent in your automation - this opens up a whole lot of new use cases.

Appreciate your forwarding @Charlie Gavey and your tip with Rovo.

If my idea will become a feature request ticket or something like this, I would appreciate a link so I can keep track on a potential implementation.

Thanks!
