Hi everyone, this is Camilo, Product Manager from the Automation team at Atlassian.
I’m thrilled to announce that we just released four new Automation templates in Jira, designed to showcase the capabilities of Rovo AI Agents. These templates, powered by AI, are in addition to those already available in JSM and Confluence.
Rovo is Atlassian’s AI-powered offering that leverages the Teamwork Graph to connect AI workflows to all your organizational knowledge, enabling personalized and actionable search, chat, agents, and studio workflows. Rovo Agents come out of the box and can also be created by power builders in Rovo Studio. Rovo Agents can perform complex analysis, provide insights, and be embed into Automation rules to help you automate repetitive tasks. By using Rovo Agents in your automation rules, you can use the power of AI to solve a wider range of use cases, from sentiment analysis to drafting content, with full control of which automated actions are taken and when.
Connecting Jira to customer feedback is a great way to keep track of it and identify requirements for your team. However, it can be difficult to make sense of all the feedback when you receive a lot. The feedback analysis templates use the Jira Theme Analyzer agent, which is available out of the box, to collect data every week from new issues created in your Jira projects. The agent summarizes the data into themes and sends the summary to your team via Slack or a new page in Confluence. These templates are perfect for helping your team cut through the noise when tens or hundreds of feedback items are created every week.
Bug triaging can be time-consuming and inefficient, often leading to delays in addressing issues due to incomplete information. The bug triaging template uses the Bug Report Assistant agent to analyze the work item details and add a comment for the creator if more information is required, such as steps to replicate the error and expected behavior. This ensures that your team has all the necessary details to address issues promptly.
Tasks often get delayed due to missing information or unclear requirements, leading to inefficiencies in your team’s workflow. This template will show you how to use the Readiness Checker agent to assess the details of a newly created ticket and add a comment if additional information is needed, such as acceptance criteria or a definition of done.
These templates are designed to be easy to use, but most importantly, they’re designed to inspire you to explore new automation use cases, which are now possible with AI.
To try out the templates, go to the Jira Automation Template Library (From a project: Settings → Automation → Templates tab) and look for the Rovo Agents category. Let us know how you go in the comments and which use cases you're solving for your company with Rovo Agents.
If you’ve got feedback on using Rovo Agents in Automation, we’d love to chat. Book time with the Automation team here.
Happy automating!
