Bitbucket cloud integration with Jira cloud

We use both Bitbucket cloud and Jira cloud.  I can create branches in Jira tickets, but there doesn't seem to be any integration of Jira in Bitbucket.  Is it not possible to submit a ticket from Bitbucket?  Specifically, I would like to try use the merge request as a code review tool, but there doesn't seem to be a way to allow reviewers to submit tickets from Bitbucket.

Hi Mathew, you won't be able to open Jira issues from Bitbucket. Once connected via application links, developers activate the integration by tagging related JIRA issues in their Git commit messages. This will allow you to see commit details in JIRA and vice versa. For more info on what the integration means you can read Using Jira with Bitbucket Cloud.

While it's not possible to create issues from Bitbucket, it is possible to transition them, you can check Smart commits for more details.
