Is it possible to set up Jira-Bitbucket integration if apps are managed by different organizations?

I want to connect our company cloud Jira to another company's Bitbucket and I am being told it's not possible

I don't really see a reason behind that, so I want to ask everyone, if someone has done it before and if there's any difference in a process described in

Welcome to the community!

You can connect Bitbucket Cloud with Jira Cloud, even if your organizations are unrelated. Provided that the individual setting up the connection is an administrator for both instances, the connection can be made.

For instance, if you're connecting from Bitbucket Cloud and are the admin of both platforms, you will have the option to select the Jira instance and establish the connection.

As you mentioned, it's unusual for an organization to link with products from another organization, but it is possible.
