Connect bitbucket with Jira

markxsimu May 25, 2018

Hi, I am created a bitbucket project called test and I wanted it to work with my jira project called test. I created a branch in jira using the repository test in bitbucket but when ever I push and commit the comments do not show up into the jira issue. How do I fix this? Do I need to use a different bitbucket server?

In order for a commit to show up under the Development section in a Jira issue you need to mention the Jira key in your commit comment. The integration links Bitbucket with Jira in three different ways; via the branch name, you mention the Jira key in a pull request or when you mention the issue key in a commit comment.

I was doing that and in bitbucket  under the commits, the commit has the right issue key and when i click it, it saids "

Can't display issues

Either you don't have access to view them or they don't exist. Please contact your system administrator if you believe this is incorrect."

When I go to jira no comments are posted nor is the issue updated.

What version of Jira and Bitbucket are you using? I found this KB related to the error you see, but it has been fixed in Jira 6.2.2 and higher. You should also take a look at the Application Link Troubleshooting guide to make sure your link is working.

I am currently using  JIRA version 7.1.7, thank you for the link I will be reading over it.

Okay, I would check that the application link is setup correctly by checking the troubleshooting guide above, and also Troubleshooting JIRA Integration

Have you checked and see if you see anything in the logs?
