I have worked with JIRA for about 6 months now and I love it.
But now I want to start working with CI and CD. I have read that atlassian has Bamboo (wich I havent used in the past) but also I have read about pipelines in Bitbucket (I have been using bitbucket for 3 years now).
Now, my question is, should I use bamboo or bitbucket pipelines?
My scenario is the following.
I have 3 stages.
1. Development
2. Testing
3. Production.
What would be the best approach and the best tool for CI and CD.
By the way, I have Jira server 7.1
Thank you for the help.
Hi Gerson,
The core factor in making this decision is if you're using Bitbucket Server or Bitbucket Cloud.
Bamboo has strong integrations with Jira: https://confluence.atlassian.com/bamboo/integrating-bamboo-with-jira-applications-289276945.html
Pipelines is still building core integration features, such as: https://bitbucket.org/site/master/issues/13129/pipelines-jira-integration-to-show-build
Both Bamboo and Pipelines will be able to support your existing use-case.
Thanks,
Phil
Hello Philip
Thank you for your answer. I am using Bitbucket Cloud.
I read the information on the links.
Is there any ETA for piplelines jira integration?
I see pipelines very easy to use and implement, but I would like to able to do it within Jira.
One more question. Is there pans to discontinue Bamboo in the near future?

Hi Gerson,
If you're using Bitbucket Cloud then Pipelines is the CI/CD tool we recommend.
The current ETA for initial Pipelines/Jira integration is the end of the calendar year. We're currently looking at adding Jira issue details to any deployment pipelines you have configured, and tracking these deployments within Jira. You can follow this ticket for information on when it is release, as well as when it is in Alpha group preview.
We have no plans to discontinue Bamboo Server at any stage of the future. It remains our recommended CI/CD tool for any Bitbucket Server customers.
Thanks,
Phil

Thank you for the reply.
I am now following the issue and completed the form for Alpha group.
I think I will be wait for the integration and work on bitbucket the deployments manually.
I appreciate your help.
Best regards.
