Release Manager add on or tool recommendation

Marcela Junyent February 20, 2019

I have several project, with several release dates. I need a calendar with all the project's releases with dates and information. What would be a good add on or tool to add to my suite atlassian to improve global visibility. I all ready have bitbucket and bamboo. Any recommendation?

Hi @Marcela Junyent

Are you already using Jira? If you need to store structured information about your project, a good way would be to have a "Project" Jira issue type with the custom fields you need (including the dates).

From the moment you have dates, you can show your projects (and your project phases) on a Roadmap/Timeline using Jira apps. We are doing that for my DevOps Team at Nestlé and it works pretty well. I will be happy to show you.

Cheers,

David

There are several calendar apps for Jira, I'd check those at Atlassian Marketplace. For example:

  1. Company Calendar for Jira seems to be able to display versions in a calendar view.
  2. Mail.ru Calendar is another popular option, although I'm not sure if it supports versions as calendar events.

Hi Marcela,

have you considered the Roadmaps feature in Jira Next Gen projects?

I hope that helps!
