Hello,

I need to connect to BitBucket to clone a repo.

So I go to BitBucket, via Okta, and I see a "resource not found" page.

When I click log in, I see a glitch in the page but in the end I'm stuck on the same "resource not found" page.

If I click dashboard (just clicking anywhere on the page to see if I can get somewhere as there's no clear directions for someone wanting to log in, except the log in button, which doesn't work), I see the Two-Step verification page, with an input saying "enter code" and some text. If I click the links on the text "verification app" and "recovery code", I'm sent to the following page, which is very long and confusing, and why would anyone have to learn all that if they only want to log in to a system?

https://support.atlassian.com/bitbucket-cloud/docs/enable-two-step-verification/#Two-stepverification-Installaverificationappforyourmobiledevice

The text is not clear. For instance, it says on that page "(you'll need) an authentication app for your mobile device like Authy." Does that mean I can use any authenticator app? I tried codes from all my authenticator apps on my device (there were a few) and none worked.

I clicked "forgot code" and I was redirected to a page where I could request a recovery email, which said I'd receive a code in 24 hours.

I probably could go on, but I believe that's enough. Just wanted to kindly suggest you make this process a bit easier. It makes one feel like they’re on a Kafka novel.

Thank you 🙏

Hi Isaac,

To clarify, the 24-hour waiting period to receive a reset email is a security measure intended to prevent malicious actors from abusing this recovery method. Also, any authenticator app can be used that is capable of scanning QR codes - we have simply suggested Authy as it is popular and has been tested by us.

Our documentation below makes the reset process more clear - so may be helpful for you in the future:

Please let me know if you are still unable to access your Bitbucket Cloud account.

Cheers!
