Automatically fill in Component field when creating Jira issue from Confluence

Sergey Bukhman November 18, 2018

I'm using the Select-text add to Jira tool in confluence to quickly turn a table in Requirements into Jira stories. My problem is that there are only two auto mapped fields - Summary and Description.

I would like to map the Component field to a table column as well. Right now it only lets me select the same components for all of the stories in the table, and sometimes that's not good enough.

As you can see in the screenshot, it lets you pick a Component but not map it to a table column.

Is there a way to do this? Or an add-on maybe?

Hello Sergey,

Creating Jira issues from Confluence can be a huge time saver. When you have a mass update that creates all of the issues with the incorrect component then some of that saved time is wasted on updating all of those issues manually. This is very unfortunate and can be a hassle to deal with. We did find a feature request with similar functionality. We would suggest you vote and watch this feature request so you may get updates. The feature request is CONFCLOUD-31867.

Within the Atlassian Marketplace there are multiple solutions that may fit your requirements as well. We would also suggest reviewing this and see if there is a viable solution for you there.

I hope you find this helpful.
