Everything I've seen about the official Atlassian MCP indicates that you would use an SSO authentication flow. We do use this with IDE-based AI tools like roo-code and cursor. However, I want to use the MCP with headless tools like Claude Code running from the CLI in CI/CD. I could see two options potentially:
- Use a Jira or Confluence API token
- User OpenID Connect flow, similar to how you can authenticate with AWS via OIDC from GitHub
However, I don't see anything in the documentation that indicates either of these will work with the official Atlassian MCP. Is there any way to call this MCP from CI/CD workflows?
